GCV Endorsements - 2008 General Elections Georgia Conservation Voters has released its complete set of endorsements for the 2008 General Elections. The endorsements include four Senate candidates, fifteen House candidates, and one Public Service Commission candidate. GCV supports these candidates and knows that they will work hard to protect Georgia's environment in their elected positions. The selected candidates have shown that they will consider Georgia's environment a top priority when making important policy decisions affecting water, air, transportation, land conservation and energy issues. The endorsements are based on a number of factors, including questionnaires and interviews completed by the candidates regarding their stances on a variety of conservation issues. In addition, GCV takes into account the candidates' records, experience, leadership, and viability as well as input from the local conservation community. The Georgia Conservation Voters Action Fund, the only pro-conservation PAC in Georgia, will actively work to get selected pro-conservation candidates elected to office through voter contact.
