VOTING BY MAIL

In order to vote by mail, request an absentee ballot by downloading an application here.  After completing the application, send it to your county registrar's office by mail or fax and they will send you your ballot by mail.

The Georgia Secretary of State Elections Division offers a detailed Absentee Voting Guide, including the following:

  • Any registered voter in Georgia may cast an absentee ballot instead of voting in person.
  • You are not required to have a specific reason when applying for an absentee ballot by mail.
  • Absentee ballots may be requested 180 days before Election Day. The last day to be issued an absentee ballot is the end of the business day on the Friday before Election Day, or by the close of the advance voting poll on the Friday before Election Day,
    whichever is later.
  • Absentee ballots are available at least 45 days before Election Day at your county registrar’s office.

Detailed information about absentee voting from the Georgia Secretary of State Elections Division can be found online or by phone at (404) 656 -2871.Voting Machine

ADVANCE VOTING

You can also vote in person the week before Election Day. Most counties offer fewer locations for early voting, so you should find out about the early voting locations in your county from your county registrar.

The Georgia Secretary of State Elections Division has additional information about advance voting.
